A really short bio & family history:

 

The McCroskeys have been Scot Presbyterians since the days of John Knox. They came to America in 1735, & began taking the gospel to the Soviet Union in 1988. Alfred has been a commissioned P.E.F. missionary evangelist since 1995.

 

Born & reared in his hometown of Florence, Alabama, Alfred finished public school there, continuing higher education at King College, Columbia theological seminary, Columbia University, & the University of North Alabama. After a stint in the U.S.Marine Corps & marrying Jean, rearing a family of 6 children & 12 grandchildren, pastoring several churches in Washington, D.C., Florida & Alabama the couple sold their home, farm & Christian book store to begin smuggling bibles to Russia & China.

They have continued in that ministry for 19 years. Church planting & training national leaders is now their primary ministry. Two of their sons have gone with them on several of the 78 short-term missions the McCroskeys have led. They expect to continue their foreign missionary ministries until 1,000 churches have been planted or until the Lord calls them home, whichever comes first.

 

SHORT TERM MISSION TRIPS IN 2007

(Dates, costs and itineraries listed below are subject to change. However, in over 18 years

of ministry in the former Soviet Union, that has happened on only one occasion)

1)  March (dates to be determined)------Northern Russia, above the Arctic Circle

We will be conducting an evangelistic outreach to the "reindeer people" who live in the Tundra above the Arctic Circle. All-inclusive cost is _____________.

2)  June (dates to be determined)------Karelia and Murmansk regions, northern Russia

Our team will be ministering in orphanages, existing churches, a rehab center for drug addicts and a prison in remote villages in the Murmansk and Karelia regions (states) north of Moscow, east of Finland. It is beautiful country. All-inclusive cost is ______________.

3)  July (dates to be determined)------Ukraine

We will be conducting various follow-up type activities in churches and orphanages in several different towns. Our primary purpose is to sponsor and minister at conferences for Ukrainian pastors, missionaries and evangelists. Pastors and/or teachers are needed for this mission. All-inclusive cost is __________.

4)  September 6-17------Volga River

We will be visiting friends and churches in 6 towns and villages situated on the banks of the Volga River. Our transportation, room and board will be on a large river boat. This mission is the least strenuous of any we have ever taken as well as very educational and enjoyable with numerous opportunities for ministry from St. Petersburg to Moscow.

5)  November or early December (dates to be determined)------Central Russia

We will be ministering in three central Russian regions with a couple of days in the large university city of Nizhniy Novgorod. All-inclusive cost is ___________.
